What we collect and where it lives

Your counters and history are stored on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework; simple app preferences (like haptics and sound settings) are stored using Apple's UserDefaults. Your counter names, counts and history are never uploaded, and we have no user accounts, no registration, and no sign-in. The only data that leaves your device is the anonymous usage analytics and purchase records described below.

Analytics

CountUp version 1.3.0 and later use Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used, for example that the app was opened, a counter was created, a count was made, the Pro screen was shown, or Pro was unlocked. Events never include your counter names, values or history.

Firebase assigns a random app-instance identifier to your installation and receives the device model, operating system version and an approximate location derived from your IP address. This data is not linked to your identity, is not used to track you across other companies' apps or websites, and is not used for advertising. CountUp does not collect the advertising identifier (IDFA) through Firebase and does not show an App Tracking Transparency prompt. Google processes this data under the Firebase privacy terms.

Versions before 1.3.0 used TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service, for the same anonymous signals. Those signals were not tied to your name, email, Apple ID or advertising identifier.

Advertising and third-party data (free tier)

The free version of CountUp shows ads served by Google AdMob. CountUp does not display Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt and does not access Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA).

AdMob may still receive limited app and device context that is necessary to load and measure ads, as described in Google's own SDK documentation and privacy materials.

For more on how Google handles advertising data, see Google's Privacy Policy.

CountUp Pro removes all advertising. No AdMob activity occurs once Pro is unlocked.

In-App Purchases

CountUp Pro is a one-time, non-consumable purchase handled by Apple's App Store and StoreKit. We never see or store your payment details.

From version 1.3.0, we use RevenueCat to record purchases and restores so Pro unlocks reliably and we can report on sales. RevenueCat receives the purchase details Apple provides (the product, price, currency, date and an anonymous transaction record) together with a random identifier for your installation. We do not have accounts, so none of this is tied to your name or email. RevenueCat processes this data under its privacy policy.

You can restore your purchase at any time using the "Restore Purchases" option in the app.

Data we do NOT collect

To be clear, CountUp does not collect any of the following:

Your name, email address, phone number, or physical address. Your payment card details. Your location. Your contacts. Your health or fitness data. Your browsing or search history.

Children

CountUp is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any data from children.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, the new version will be published at this URL and the "Last updated" date will change. For significant changes, we will include a notice in the next app update.
